Words from the chairmanDid you og to a market this summer? I went to one and I can conclude that we old car people are rather crazy. It was pouring rain and windy on the Sunday morning when the VROM market was about to open up. The Volvo clubs use to be present in a market tent where we inform about our activities and sell club articles. This year I had pursued my wife to come with me, so it was with mixed feelings I approached the Arendal area. I had promised my wife a nice experience with a lot of people, not a rainy and empty market area that I now feared we should come to. Half an hour before opening hours we arrive at the site, and to my surprise we were not at all alone. The rain was almost horizontal from the sea. My umbrella broke almost immediately, but never mind. My statement about us being crazy was confirmed. There were so many visitors the big parking lot was completely filled. The market was very good with lots of sellers and buyers. In the afternoon a few sunrays decided to visit with us, so my wife approved my bringing here with me. She can consider joining me some other time too. Maybe at the Nyköping market. The result of a market visit usually is that the free time is filled. Maybe you found some new items for the PV or Duett that has to be fitted or perhaps a model car to be built? Did you not go to any market? Are you not yet sure what to do on your free time? There is still a solution as you always can order parts from the PV-klubben, from SVIS or from one of our advertisers. Look up the PV-Notiser and you will find something. You even can order a Christmas present for your wife. Kjell Åke Holdar is the chairman of the Svenska Volvo PV-klubben |
