The PV-klubben almanac 2001
Translation of texts in the PV-klubben alamanac 2001. The almanac was distributed
to members of the Svenska Volvo PV-klubben with the PV-Entusiasten # 4 2000.

All pictures in this years almanac comes from the archives of the
Swedish magazine the Motor.

The Swedish car magazine the Motor testing tires on a PV 444 L. The
aircraft in the back is an Airspeed AS65 Consul manufactured in
1941. The airplane served in the RAF untills May 29 1952 when
Transair Sweden bought it. It was sold to Denmark in 1959.
January
Volvo cars in Los Angeles harbor. Recently unloaded, they await
transport to dealers and customers in the western portion of the United
States.
February
The Motor made a test in 1960 to find out if the filling stations gave
good service. Here a Duett is the test object.
March
A break in the 16:st Swedish Rally 1965. Closest to the camera are
two PV Sports 1962/63.
April
Volvo dealership Ernst Nilsons demonstration car, a PV 444 D 1952,
gets a dash of water. Note the nicely framed forward reflectors or
"bouncelights" as they also were called.
May
One of the company cars belonging to Shell, a 1960/61 PV 544 B is
filled at the often photographed petrol station by the Strandvägen in
Stockholm.
Notice the note vending machine, the first in Sweden, launched on
June 22 1965.
June
1962/63 Duett with all the necessary holiday accessories, at the
Råssö camping site on the Swedish west coast.
July
Grinder Carl-Axel Hagstrom from Motala with his family on holiday at
the Skönstavik camping site. Carl-Axel has a 1953 PV 444 ES. The
tent neighbor has a Standard 8
August
Duetts with and without rear fenders. SAABs with and without trunk lid.
September
A PV 544 C Favorit with carburetor problem. Stockholm 1977.
October
Banergatan in Stockholm 1956. Besides a PV 444 KS there is
among others a Standard 8, Wolsely 6/80, Opel Kapitän, last and
least a DKW Hobby Roller.
November
The most modern instruments along the line ease the work of specially
trained repairmen. One -47, two -52 and one PV 832 from the
Swedish army, are being treated by those repairmen.
December
The total winner for the second year in a row in the Swedish Rally was
the European champion Tom Trana with Gunnar Thermaenius as
codriver. On the picture they are rushing with their white Volvo.
This car is probably the last comptition car of the PV 544 type that
Volvo built for its factory rally team. Tom Trana competed with the car
in the 1965 Acropolis rally and in the Swedish Rally the same year.
