PV-klubben – an
amusement park
Working on a voluntary basis in a club is like visiting an amusement
park. You go there to have fun, and during the visit you try the
rollercoaster the funny house and the ghost castle. It is antipodes or
cycles.
What do I mean?
Just like in the professional or private life the conditions for activities
change from time to time and so does the surrounding world.
Some examples:
The cooperation that has existed for several years between the Volvo
Clubs was rather tense in the early part of 1999. Much of what was
written in the club magazines confirmed that we were in a "valley", or
in the ghost castle. But by meeting personally a couple of times to talk
things through, we are now back on track with new ideas and common
projects. Clearly an improvement.
The publishing of the club magazine was on top in the beginning of the
year but evolved so that during the summer it seemed to end up like a
thriller that would make the Hunchback of Notre Dame look like a nice
guy. But with a massive campaign in the Editorials and
advertisements we have developed solutions. Right now it feels like
we have a ticket to the flying carpet. Thrilling, with speed and
movement.
The number of members has continued to increase also this year.
There was a slight slow down in the beginning of the summer with a
subsequent rush in August, and it's going up all the time. This makes
me feel that we, despite the ups and downs on the rollercoaster, are
doing the right thing. The Svenska Volvo PV-klubben is the forum for
PV, Duett and P1900 enthusiasts.
With these words I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a
Happy New Year.
