A new enthusiast

There is no doubt that the PV is a coveted car also outside the
borders of Sweden. And The Svenska Volvo PV-klubben
attracts new members from many parts of the world. One of
them is Kristian Cassini in France.
Kristian Cassni lives with his family in Saint-Julien-En-Genevois in
France, where he works as a French teacher and since last year he is
the owner of a dark blue 1965 Volvo PV 544 F.
The dream car has always been a Volvo and the PV model has been
his favorite.
It would have been easier to choose a Renault or an old Citroen! In
France it is very hard to find parts. "In principle it is impossible," says
Kristian.
He is being helped by a couple of friends in Germany. Just now they
have helped him with a new exhaust system for the PV.
"We are a few Volvo freaks down here with some Amazons and a
couple of PVs." They help each other with tips and parts. I am told how
easy it is for us living in Sweden with spares and swap meets.
Kristian is very satisfied with his old Volvo. The price was right and the
condition is very good. The engine is running nice and quietly.
However the colour was not really my taste. He calls it "CA VA", and
anyone who wants can translate that for himself.
Many plans for the future
"I want to go to a real big Volvo meet like Vallåkra," he says. In France
the Vallåkra meet is very famous. "But if I will make the trip in the PV I
do not know, it is a long trip for me and the PV." Despite Kristian
being a teacher he cannot speak a word of Swedish: "It is like being a
child! I can only look at the pictures," he continues. "Old Volvo cars are
delight to look at, so it is OK!"
No doubt we will see our French member on the Swedish roads!
