Magazine problems
S o, it finally arrived, the magazine I had been waiting for. It came
when it was time for me to write the editorial for the next issue of the
PV-Entusiasten.
To write the editorial is not easy. I want to write about things that are
important for the club or for our hobby. This time the choice of subject
is easy.
The last time I wrote an editorial I was enjoying autumn sun and warm
winds, a weather that was inviting me to take a trip in the PV. This was
the reason why I gave the tip about an autumn trip in the PV. After that
all went wrong. Everything from small misunderstandings to lack of
time gave the production of the PV-Entusiasten a heavy delay. It is a
puzzle for the editors to make everything work and in addition they do
it all on their free time. The patience was probably running out for
some of them. On top of everything, the CD disc with the magazine on
it was unreadable when it reached the print shop. This meant another
lost week for us.
Here in Värmland we had an autumn weather seldom seen before you
had the magazine in your hand, so you will have to save my excursion
tip till the spring instead. But maybe you, like I, have four winter tires in
the garage. You can always put them on and drive on winter roads with
the old car. Heating system was standard equipment from 1954, so
you do not have to freeze when you drive.
Magazine contents
How is your car doing by the way? Many of the questions we receive
at the club are about technical problems that have arisen when driving
or during restoration. I notice that many questions are quite simple to
answer even for me, even though I am no technician. During nearly 25
years with my car I have learned a lot by my own mistakes and through
help from skilled club friends, experiences that I gladly share when
someone asks. A have also noticed that the questions often are about
the same problem from many members. We are thinking a lot about
what to fill the PV-Entusiasten with, so the proposal from Dan Jansson
on the phone today was welcome. Dan thinks it is time for a Technical
tip page with those practical service and restoration tips again. I think
it sounds great, so if some of you want to contribute with some good
advice you can write a few lines to the editors. If you have good ideas
but find it hard to write, call the editor, he can arrange a writer who can
make a visit in your garage. Do not think that your tip is too simple.
There are many members who get stuck already with spark plug
problems like Margareta Ekarv told us in # 2.
